Bern’s Steak House set to close for renovations

Bern’s Steak House has announced a temporary closure will happen this summer for design enhancements.

The last day of service before the closure will be July 2, with renovations expected to last up to two weeks, according to a release.

“Bern’s Steak House has always been an evolutionary restaurant, in the sense that it is constantly changing, from the aesthetics of the dining rooms and Harry Waugh Dessert Rooms to the menu, wine and spirit offerings,” said David Laxer, owner, Bern’s Steak House, in a statement.

The main focus of the renovations will be the lounge, kitchen upgrades and an expanded staff break area.

BDG Architects will oversee the design, and Richard Zingale is leading the interior design for the lounge, which was last remodeled in 1998.

Bern’s has received no shortage of honors within the hospitality industry, including multiple nods from the James Beard Foundation awards. Last year the restaurant made the cut for recommendation in the Michelin Guide.
