BDG Architects has a current opening for an Interior Designer to work with our Program Studio in Tampa, FL. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited interior design university. A minimum of 7 years of experience is preferred. Applicant must demonstrate an ability to perform a variety of interior design project assignments under the general supervision of a senior project manager. The Interior Design Associate will have direct working contact with client representatives to develop functional, sustainable and aesthetic designs. Responsibilities will focus on program development, space planning, construction documents, FF&E selection/specification, development of sketches and renderings and coordination with interior design elements on architecture projects.
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge of design trends, construction methods, and material applications.
- Advanced knowledge of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art, and accessories.
- Manage project coordination between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials.
- Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of construction documents.
- Advanced knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Develop innovative design concepts which are practical, aesthetic, safe, functional, and conducive of client goals and within project budget.
- Perform site survey and documentation.
- Lead and mentor interior designers in collaboration with Senior Designers, Architects, and Managers.
- Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and integrate with the existing team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design from an accredited university.
- 7+ years of project experience within an architecture and interior design practice (preferably hospitality, program, and/or commercial design).
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office, Bluebeam Revu, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Working knowledge of building codes, standards, and building construction.
- Must be a professional Interior Designer and have passed the NCIDQ exam with current license required.
- Advanced credentials desired (LEED AP, WELL AP).
