Following a fire-related relocation, a new 125,000-square-foot state-of-the-art recycling plant was designed for Atlantic Coast Recycling along the Passaic River, overcoming significant site challenges including the need for a 100-year flood plan. The building was strategically repositioned and elevated to allow for storm water drainage beneath the structure. Completed on a fast-track schedule, the facility features dual truck access points, two scales, a large bale storage room, loading docks, a two-story office area, and a dedicated mechanic shop—all optimized to support the processing of up to 50 tons of recycled material per hour. The design balances high-capacity functionality with environmental resilience, setting a new benchmark for recycling infrastructure.
