For Mandell’s new 65,000-square-foot K–8 green facility, the firm designed each classroom around the curriculum, incorporating leading-edge technologies and sustainable materials throughout. Features include a black box theater for student productions; a 70-inch LCD video monitor to display student art; a “living wall” garden in the cafeteria; and an 8,000-square-foot outdoor terrace. A separate learning center-library has been constructed nearby.
