Venera Lajqi, Associate AIA
Project Manager
Master of Architecture
University of Prishtina
Originally from Kosovo, Venera’s passion for architecture was shaped by a deeply personal experience—her birth city was destroyed during the war in 1998–99. Witnessing the devastation ignited a strong desire to rebuild and create spaces that offer hope, resilience, and a sense of community. Venera and her family were fortunate to win the Green Card Lottery, opening the door to a new life in the United States. After settling in Minnesota, they soon realized the cold weather wasn’t for them. Seeking warmth and a more relaxed lifestyle, they moved to Florida, where they’ve embraced the sunshine and a more comfortable way of life. Venera earned her Master’s in Architecture from the University of Prishtina, where she honed her skills and deepened her love for design. Now, as she prepares for the ARE, she is on the path to becoming licensed in the United States, furthering her ability to make a meaningful impact on the built environment.
She joined BDG Architects in 2025 as a Project Manager, bringing a wealth of experience in managing urban planning, residential, mixed-use, multi-family, and commercial projects. Known for her collaborative approach, attention to detail, and ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, Venera is dedicated to ensuring every project meets the highest standards of quality while creating spaces that people truly love and feel connected to. Outside of work, Venera treasures time with her family, whether playing chess with her kids, exploring new places, or enjoying peaceful walks along Florida’s beautiful beaches. These moments of connection and exploration continue to inspire and fuel her creativity in both her personal and professional life.
