BDG Architects designed The Florida Aquarium Channelview Pavilion, a 7,500 SF outdoor event space showcasing Tampa’s port and skyline as its backdrop. The new structure blends beautifully with the aquarium’s signature glass dome utilizing Tampa Electric Company’s (TECO) solar panels to power the canopy’s louver system which, when open, allows guests to take in a starlit night but can be closed during the day to provide protection from the harsh Florida sun.
