IIDA’s Florida Central Chapter hosted their 2nd Annual Chairs for Charity competition. Sixteen design firms were tasked with reimagining the Eames DSR chair using the element fire, water, air, or earth as their inspiration. The auction raised $2,825 for Creative Clay Cultural Arts Center, which provides outreach art experiences to people with disabilities. BDG Architects divided our fire-inspired chair to create two unique pieces of work inspired by a flame igniting another flame. Our design was selected as the People’s Choice winner and also tied for the highest bid! Great job to all the firms who put their creativity towards helping a worthy cause. Thank you so much to our sponsor National Office Furniture as well as to Viable Lumber LLC for donating the wood components of our design. Click here to see photos of all the designs.
