Architecture Associate
Why This Role Is Different
As a newer office within the firm our team is small but mighty – You’ll work directly alongside the principal and senior staff, not three layers removed from them. At the same time, you’re not joining a firm that’s capped out. We’re part of a multi-office national practice on a strong growth trajectory, and we’re actively building out this location. That means real opportunities for advancement as the office grows. We’re also a firm that’s leaning into AI wholeheartedly as part of how we practice, not just talking about it — you’ll have real opportunity to bring new tools and workflows into projects, not retrofit them later.
What You’ll Do
- Support projects across all phases, from concept design through construction documents and construction administration
- Develop details and document sets with a high level of craft and accuracy
- Build and manage Revit models used in active practice — not just for presentation
- Bring strategic thinking to design challenges, not just execution
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and manage your own priorities across multiple concurrent efforts
Requirements
- A professional degree from a NAAB-accredited school of architecture
- Strong, practice-level proficiency in Revit (able to hit the ground running in a live production environment)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sharp attention to detail
- Experience with document production and detailing development
- An ability to prioritize — and to understand why something is a priority — while juggling multiple project demands
- Comfort collaborating across disciplines and managing your own workload
Preferred
- Licensure, or active, demonstrated progress through the AXP/ARE process
- A demonstrated record of initiative – academic honors, competitions, professional recognition, leadership in a professional or student organization, or similar evidence that you go above and beyond
- A portfolio that conveys design excellence and a commitment to graphic quality
- Enscape rendering experience
- Familiarity with AI-driven design or production tools, or a strong interest in developing those skills
What We Offer
- Direct, daily access to local leadership
- Accelerated exposure to various aspects of practice
- The stability and resources of an established, multi-office practice, paired with the agility of a small studio
- A clear growth path as we expand our downtown office
- A collaborative, in-person studio culture in the heart of downtown, with the option for limited structured remote work
- Highly competitive compensation
BDG Architects offers a comprehensive benefit package with options for health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, annual performance bonuses, and the ability to participate in a 401K program. We also offer paid holidays and paid personal time off.
