This half-day event focused on the exploration of innovative ideas in urban development and served as a catalyst for discussion and problem solving for major urban issues. Hundreds of downtown stakeholders, urban planners, developers, real estate professionals, property owners and public officials were in attendance. Our Downtown is facing creative, dynamic and market-driven disruptions to how we live, work and play that will determine the development of the urban core for generations to come. Never before has Tampa’s Downtown been presented with such diverse and unique challenges that will force the business community to think further in to the future.
Brett Green, Related Group, was a panelist and spoke on opening the door for workforce and attainable housing in Downtown Tampa. BDG Architects is working with Related Group redeveloping the City of Tampa’s 120-acre West River community with the first three residential mid-rise buildings. We are excited to be part of this effort to create a diverse mixed-use community with approximately 2,200 new residential units within walking distance of downtown.
