Construction is moving along for the new 26-acre St. Pete Pier District. The roof for the Pier Head building will be placed soon, a pier spokeswoman said in explaining the next steps for the district. The pier head building will house three restaurant concepts designed by BDG Architects including an upscale restaurant called Teak, a rooftop bar called Pier Teaki and a café, Driftwood Café. The work for the entire district is expected to open in spring next year. It is anticipated that the district will attract 1.7 million people a year.
