Tampa International Airport is expanding its TPA All Access program, which opens the airsides to the public so non-flyers can enjoy its restaurants and retail (including BDG Architects-designed Rumfish Grille, Four Green Fields, The Café by Mise en Place and more).
After more than 1,700 people came through the airport just to get a bite at its diverse restaurants, Tampa International Airport is expanding its all-access program beyond just Saturdays.
The airport will expand the program it launched last May that opens airsides to the public so everyone can access its restaurants and retail — even if they aren't passengers on a flight.
Currently, the airport's all-access program allows up to 100 people every Saturday to visit an airside terminal where the post-security shops and restaurants are. Beginning on Jan. 18, the program will operate daily, according to a press release.
The access program runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is limited to 25 people per airside and one airside per visit.
The airport's restaurant tenants include Cigar City Brewery, Ulele, Columbia Restaurant, Cafe by Mise En Place, Four Green Fields, Burger 21, Pei Wei, RumFish Grill, and Buddy Brew Coffee.
Guests must sign up in advance and are subject to the same security screening regulations as passengers.
The food and beverage and retail merchandise concessions are part of the airport's growing revenue stream; for fiscal year 2020, revenue is projected to be $269.5 million. The food and beverage component will continue to grow due to the increase in passenger traffic. It's projected to increase by $1.5 million to $28.9 million, according to airport data.
