Our team was retained by the Out-of-Door Academy to design a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and Student Center on its Lakewood Ranch Campus.
The 20,000 sq. ft. building includes state-of-the-art, high-tech teaching labs and classrooms. Specific features to the design include a large student commons area, writing lab, tech center, cyber cafe, collaborative workspace, study rooms, offices and multi-purpose indoor and outdoor program spaces.
Although this new building is contemporary, it still has materials and details of the same architectural vocabulary as the existing buildings on the campus, such as standing seam met diagonal struts and cement plaster exterior finish.
