After earning his associate degree at a community college, Alejandro’s pursuit of architectural excellence led him to the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he achieved his Master of Architecture in May 2020. Alejandro’s architectural passion revolves around the intricate beauty of older styles like Romanesque and Gothic architecture, and he aspires to blend these timeless languages into modern architecture. Outside of his architectural pursuits, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and engaging in various sports and activities.

Heading Due Diligence for the South Studio, Amalía investigates site conditions, researches / analyzes codes and interacts with jurisdictions and developers to ensure the feasibility of the project. Her meticulous communication style ensures that clients stay well-informed, enabling them to make efficient decisions and track project progress. Currently on the path to obtaining her architecture license, Amalía is dedicated to advancing her professional qualifications.

Amy is a Registered Interior Designer in Alabama with 30+ years of experience in providing interior design services for an array of project types including corporate interiors, inancial institutions, multi-family, hospitality, and medical office. Prior to joining BDG Architects, Amy was a pivotal member of PKA Architects for 16 years before the acquisition by BDG Architects. Amy’s role with BDG Architects consists of managing interiors for the Birmingham office. This includes business development, project management and client relations. She is active with her church and the Junior League of Birmingham as a sustainer. She is a member of NAIOP Alabama, IIDA and AIDC. Amy enjoys fishing, hiking, and gardening.

Growing up in a military family Anne Marie has lived in 11 cities in 7 states but made Alabama her home in 2003. She joined BDG Architects with over 20 years of experience in commercial, institutional and multi-family project management. She is excited to share her knowledge and develop younger team members’ knowledge and experience. Anne Marie enjoys working on projects from start to finish, providing economical and efficient solutions to issues that arise, and exceeding clients’ expectations. She is a member of AIA, NCARB and is licensed in TX, MS and AL. She resides outside of Birmingham on her farm with her husband, children and all the animals.

His areas of expertise include Financial, Office, Retail, Restaurants, Corporate, and Interior Architecture. He prides himself on being an Eagle Scout, fervent musician, soccer player, mountain biker – pretty much anything outdoors!

Asa, a retail banking expert, is a key member of BDG Architects. Originally from Lima, Peru, she settled in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 10. With a background in retail management and visual merchandising, Asa is on the verge of achieving her architectural license, having recently passed another exam—just one more step before becoming officially licensed in FL. As the first employee to transfer to the Charlotte office, Asa has continually advanced within the company, taking on leadership roles both internally and in her community. Recognized for her community engagement, she has won numerous awards through AIA. Outside of work, she explores Charlotte, her new hometown, and maintains an active lifestyle by participating in run clubs with her dogs in her spare time.

This fascination, combined with her talent in oil painting, led her to view architectural design through an artistic lens. Prior to joining BDG Architects, Ashley honed her skills at a Truss Design company, gaining invaluable experience in the structural and construction aspects of both residential and commercial architecture. In her free time, Ashley continues to express her creativity through oil painting, often selling her artworks. She also enjoys visiting her family and friends in the Dominican Republic and Miami. Currently, Ashley is on the path to becoming a Licensed Architect, bringing her unique blend of artistic and technical expertise to BDG Architects.

A course on Architecture & the Human Body deepened his understanding of how space and design influence human perception. Brian, a Tampa local and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, began his architectural journey after his military service. His professional background spans both the architectural and structural engineering fields, with a focus on document production and management utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM). Brian has also contributed as a healthcare consultant, conducting life-safety and “environment of care” inspections for Florida hospitals. His diverse project experience includes commercial, industrial, multi-family housing, professional office space, as well as sports and recreation facilities. Brian’s recent work has been as a lead in BDG’s partnership with BLOX construction, developing factory built, modular healthcare projects. Outside of his professional pursuits, Brian finds solace in the Florida outdoors and dedicates time to practicing traditional Chinese martial arts.
Briana, an Accounting Associate at BDG Architects, was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area. She discovered her passion for accounting while working in the automotive industry for four years, building on that experience with a role in the hotel industry before joining BDG. Briana attended St. Petersburg College and brings a strong foundation in financial management to her work. A proud fur mom to two poodles, she enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, and takes every chance to travel and explore new places.

After giving up basketball, Caleb attended Ball State to focus on architecture. Now based in Tampa, Caleb enjoys exercising and outdoor activities like going to the beach and golfing in his free time.

He is particularly enthusiastic about sustainability, recognizing its significant role in fostering a more eco-friendly planet. Outside of his professional endeavors, he unwinds by playing Ultimate Frisbee, relaxing at the beach, and discovering new trails and places to rollerblade.

Her diverse experience equips her with a unique blend of technical expertise and creative vision, and she is recognized for her ability to manage complex projects and deliver high-quality results. Now, as a Project Manager at BDG Architects, Carolina is involved in the Chase New Build Production, contributing her passion for functional design and innovative solutions. Outside of work, she enjoys painting, volleyball, and outdoor adventures, with a particular love for the mountains and spending quality time with family.

Proficient in development considerations, Chris is well-versed in long-range planning, finance strategies, incentives, LEED and WELL design certification, and facilities planning. Actively engaged in civic and industry organizations, he contributes to USGBC, AIA, ICSC, NFPA, and holds board positions such as chair of the property committee for the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA and board member for the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council.

From a young age, he found himself immersed in the construction world, working alongside his grandfather to renovate houses and provide affordable housing for the elderly and single mothers. This early exposure ignited a passion for architecture, a passion that only intensified as the years went by. Transitioning to Florida, Darrail pursued a career as a barber with a clear goal in mind: to save enough money to pursue his dream of studying architecture in college. It was a challenging journey, but he remained steadfast, knowing that each haircut brought him closer to his aspirations. Finally enrolling in the prestigious architecture program at SPC, Darrail felt a sense of purpose as he stepped onto campus. Fast Forward to 2024, Darrail achieved a significant milestone in his journey, receiving his master’s degree in architecture from USF. Outside of his professional pursuits, Darrail considers family to be the cornerstone of his existence. He also possesses an insatiable wanderlust, driving him to explore new horizons and immerse himself in different cultures. His portfolio is diverse with projects ranging in scale and complexity across a variety of market sectors that include commercial office, mixed-use residential, healthcare, hospitality, and higher education. In his free time, Donnie is usually looking for places to hike, maybe surfing, most likely HH’ing with friends, and definitely looking for the next travel adventure and national park to visit.

A Detroit native, Farris has recently relocated to Tampa after graduating from Florida International University in Miami, FL. Farris joined BDG Architects in 2022 and works with the Chase Initiatives team. His interest in architecture began at a very young age. He is most passionate about improving the health and wellness of users experiencing a space and improving the environmental performance of a building. He completed his Masters thesis on redesigning and destigmatizing mental health facilities in underprivileged communities. In his free you can find him at the gym, and after that, cooking up a storm in the kitchen. He also enjoys dancing, exploring new places, and spending time with friends.
Frankie is a seasoned Project Manager at BDG Architects, bringing over three decades of diverse technical and managerial experience to the team. With a robust background encompassing mechanical, electrical, fuel, plumbing, and layout work, Frankie has spent over two decades in technical field service and more than a decade in management. His impressive career includes extensive experience in the banking industry, specifically on the Regions account, where he has honed his skills in client relations and effective problem-solving. Frankie’s proven ability to initiate, plan, and complete projects in a timely manner has made him a valuable asset to architects, engineers, contractors, and various subcontractors. Beyond his professional achievements, Frankie is passionate about the outdoors, enjoying activities such as fishing, hunting, baseball, gardening, yard work, and repairing classic cars. Additionally, he has dedicated many years as a civilian contractor working closely with military branches and is also a beekeeper, reflecting his multifaceted interests and expertise.

In 2023, Harris attended The School of Architecture (TSOA), founded by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1932, to learn hands-on design and construction. Currently Harris is finishing her degree at LSU in international business. As a member of REIC, CREW, and ULI of Tampa Bay Harris has grown her pool of connections not only in the AEC space but also the financial and real estate space. Ten years later, Hellen returned to Tampa to continue her education full-time, with the goal of becoming a licensed architect. Originally from Michigan, Mark recently relocated to Florida. He has extensive knowledge in Residential design as well as experience in the commercial and light industrial industries. His background consists of 15 years in residential construction ranging from excavation, foundations, framing, roofing, siding, windows/doors, finish carpentry work. Unfortunately Mark had a life changing eye injury while working construction that forced him to reconsider his career choice. He had always enjoyed building things and excelled in the exploratory AutoCAD classes in High School so after his eye injury, he decided to pursue a degree in Architecture. Upon graduation, he worked for a MEP firm doing power and electrical design work. He then took a job in the Facilities Engineering Department for Dart Container Corporation’s corporate branch. He worked on light industrial projects, office fit-outs and new buildings on their corporate campus. From there Mark worked for an architecture firm where he specialized in High-end Residential Design. Outside of work, Mark enjoys doing just about anything outside, including golfing, kayaking, boating, fishing, and sporting events.

His extensive project portfolio includes high-rise structures, higher and secondary education facilities, healthcare establishments, senior living communities, single and multi-family housing, retail spaces, mixed-use developments, and entertainment projects. In his Project Management role for the Charlotte office, Paul leads assigned projects, aiming to provide effective leadership and ensure that our internal processes facilitate efficient interactions with clients, contractors, and consultants, ultimately contributing to the success of all projects.

Philip served as the President of PKA Architects from 1997 until the firm’s merger with BDG Architects in 2013. Now an Architecture Associate at BDG, he looks to use his experience as a Project Manager to bring his projects at BDG to life. His outside interests include traveling and trying new restaurants. With a passion for traveling to vibrant and unique new places, he plans to visit Spain and Japan for their rich culture, unique cuisine, and diverse architecture.
Rick, who joined BDG Architects in 2019, brings over two decades of experience in project and program management. His impressive track record spans various project types, sizes, and complexities, ranging from retail, banking, and restaurants to roller-coasters and multi-use buildings for diverse local and national clients. This extensive experience positions him well in his role on the Construction and Contract Administration Team at BDG Architects. Hailing from the former American Canal Zone in the Republic of Panama, Rick is bilingual and has a deep love for learning new things and embarking on adventures. Fluent in both English and Hungarian, with additional knowledge of Russian and German, Roland excels in communication and project coordination. Married to his wife Amie for 20 years, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and hunting, and loves traveling across the country with his family. Roland and Amie have two teenage sons, Daniel and Adam, and three dachshunds, Millie, Mayzie, and Milo.

Timur’s collaborative management style embodies the Kaizen principles of continuous improvement for himself and his team members.
