After earning his associate degree at a community college, Alejandro’s pursuit of architectural excellence led him to the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he achieved his Master of Architecture in May 2020. Alejandro’s architectural passion revolves around the intricate beauty of older styles like Romanesque and Gothic architecture, and he aspires to blend these timeless languages into modern architecture. As the first employee to transfer to the Charlotte office, Asa has continually advanced within the company, taking on leadership roles both internally and in her community. Recognized for her community engagement, she has won numerous awards through AIA. Brian has also contributed as a healthcare consultant, conducting life-safety and “environment of care” inspections for Florida hospitals. His diverse project experience includes commercial, industrial, multi-family housing, professional office space, as well as sports and recreation facilities. As a Chicago native, Darrail’s upbringing was deeply intertwined with the diverse neighborhoods of the city. From a young age, he found himself immersed in the construction world, working alongside his grandfather to renovate houses and provide affordable housing for the elderly and single mothers. This early exposure ignited a passion for architecture, a passion that only intensified as the years went by. Transitioning to Florida, Darrail pursued a career as a barber with a clear goal in mind: to save enough money to pursue his dream of studying architecture in college. It was a challenging journey, but he remained steadfast, knowing that each haircut brought him closer to his aspirations. Finally enrolling in the prestigious architecture program at SPC, Darrail felt a sense of purpose as he stepped onto campus. Fast Forward to 2024, Darrail achieved a significant milestone in his journey, receiving his master’s degree in architecture from USF. Originally from Michigan, Mark recently relocated to Florida. He has extensive knowledge in Residential design as well as experience in the commercial and light industrial industries. His background consists of 15 years in residential construction ranging from excavation, foundations, framing, roofing, siding, windows/doors, finish carpentry work. Unfortunately Mark had a life changing eye injury while working construction that forced him to reconsider his career choice. He had always enjoyed building things and excelled in the exploratory AutoCAD classes in High School so after his eye injury, he decided to pursue a degree in Architecture. Upon graduation, he worked for a MEP firm doing power and electrical design work. He then took a job in the Facilities Engineering Department for Dart Container Corporation’s corporate branch. He worked on light industrial projects, office fit-outs and new buildings on their corporate campus. From there Mark worked for an architecture firm where he specialized in High-end Residential Design. Outside of work, Mark enjoys doing just about anything outside, including golfing, kayaking, boating, fishing, and sporting events.

Focused on the design of retail, restaurant, and office spaces, Trish brings a distinctive touch to our diverse portfolio. Outside of her professional endeavors, Trish immerses herself in a range of activities during her free time—whether she’s on horseback at her equestrian facility, paddleboarding, or enjoying the freedom of the open road on her motorcycle.

Valerie serves as the welcoming face of BDG Architects in our Birmingham office, expertly managing reception functions at our front desk. As the initial point of contact for clients visiting or calling our office, she adeptly juggles various administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of our workspace. Drawing on her prior experience working with an electrical contractor, Valerie brings a keen understanding of the life of a project to the table. Beyond her professional role, she finds joy in spending quality time with her three sons and grandson, whom she affectionately refers to as her sunshine.
